Why give to the MAC LAU?

1 Because the MAC LAU cares about bringing contemporary art to new audiences.

Each year, scholastic initiatives bring nearly 8,000 children to the museum. And the MAC LAU is dedicated to welcoming guests of all ages, offering educational activities for adults, and inclusive conferences and art workshops to make contemporary art accessible to any new enthusiast.

2 Because the MAC LAU honours artistic heritage.

As the leading art institution of the Laurentians, the MAC LAU mission is to collect, conserve, preserve and showcase the contemporary arts.

3 Because the MAC LAU is cultivating community!

The museum brings people together through hybrid art projects that use a grassroots context to promote contemporary art within the urban and social fabric.

Local initiatives take place at the MAC LAU, such as the graduating show of the visual arts students from Cégep de Saint-Jérôme. In this partnership, the museum collaborates in the development of the students’ projects throughout the year by offering studio visits, help with the designing of the exhibition, advice on the actual installation, etc.

4 Because you may benefit from a tax receipt.

For every donation of $25 or more, we’re pleased to offer a charitable donation receipt.

Contribute to the development of our collection

The main mission of the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides is to showcase, share and promote the works of visual artists. Towards this vision, the museum collects, preserves, exhibits and documents artworks with a particular emphasis on contemporary art. The MAC LAU’s Permanent Collection, a growing collection of print and audiovisual works and media reflective of the visual arts practices of the Laurentians, allows for the continued documentation, preservation, research, exhibition and interpretation of these works. The MACL carefully evaluates all artworks donation submissions. For more information on our collection policy, please visit the Collection section of our site.
