The presentation of Milutin Gubash's work is part of the Rencontre series. It aims to support the work of an artist in the context of multiple presentations spanning two consecutive years, allowing the Museum and the public to maintain a sustained dialogue with the latter.
Having immigrated to Canada as a child, the artist never stopped building a relationship with Serbia, his native country, through the stories told by his family and intensive research, using his imagination to fill in the gaps. This year, he wants to present a sculptural installation that acts as a kind of theater or film set, which incorporates 40 to 50 disembodied arms forming clusters or "clouds" and touching obsolete objects such as analog cameras and ephemera photographic, which he repaired with his late father.
Curator: Michel de Broin.
Exhibition text by Marie-Claude Landry.
The artist would like to thank the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for their support.
