François Lacasse : Poetic study of fluid mechanics

François Lacasse

For the past five years, François Lacasse has been methodically developing new procedures for the realization of his works. The paint flow now covers the entire surface of the painting rather than favouring the local stain or the shape drawn and produced by a number of gestures. The artist now explores the different consistencies of acrylic paint and the possible reactions that their encounters on the surface produce under specific conditions. He invents worlds where the procedures fade a little, where they pass to the background to leave more room for the evocative power of the image.

François Lacasse is represented by the René Blouin Gallery.
