D'après mesures
Collective Exhibition
Opening on Saturday October 14, 2023 from 2 PM to 5 PM.
D'après mesures is the result of residencies and workshops carried out in 2022 and 2023 by Félix Bernier, Laure Bourgault, Diane Morin and Ana Rewakowicz at the Université de Montréal's Station de biologie des Laurentides (SBL), a genuine open-air laboratory located on a protected 16 km2 territory in Saint-Hippolyte. Curated by Anne-Marie Belley, the exhibition marks the first artistic incursion into the SBL since its creation over half a century ago. An experience marked by exchanges and collaborations between artists and scientists that have highlighted the commonalities between their respective ways of apprehending nature. Combining uncertainty and experimentation, intuition and reason, the four artists have produced digital, mechanical and organic installations that hijack scientific techniques and technologies to form a new ecosystem in the exhibition space.
