Carl Trahan and Milutin Gubash | Opening

Carl Trahan

Over the years, Carl Trahan’s visual works, a mix of drawing, writing and other media, have served to communicate his particular interest in modernity, exploring its threads of connectivity to the Industrial Revolution, European fascism and the First World War. This reflection holds strong in his latest project, Das Gleitende – III, a multimedia approach that continues to examine modernity, religion and the deconstruction of the spiritual order established and celebrated by futurism.

Carl Trahan is the 2016 recipient of the prestigious Prix en art actuel from the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, one of the most esteemed art awards in Québec. Following his Because There is Night exhibition at the MNBAQ, Trahan presents his continuing insights and reflections on the complexities of language, politics and aesthetics.

The opening will also unveil the new exhibition of Milutin Gubash.
