The mission of the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides is to examine contemporary art practices by revitalizing museological approaches—acquisition, conservation, dissemination, and outreach—through exhibitions, public events, community projects, social innovation, as well as civic, educational, and cultural actions.

The Museum's Initiatives
A museum actively involved in its region and its community
The MAC LAU plays an active role in the Laurentian region by promoting activities that broaden its reach beyond its borders and the spheres of contemporary art. Locally, the museum Is an experimental and civic leader, initiating political, social, and aesthetic art projects.

The Museum benefits from the support of the MRC de la Rivière-du-Nord for the development of local initiatives such as the mobile pavilion.
The MAC LAU receives funds from the operational support program for museums of the Ministry of Culture and Communications of Quebec (MCCQ).
Since many years, the Caisse Desjardins de la Rivière-du-Nord supports the cultural outreach program of the Museum.
